Sarah Dyer graduated from Kingston University with a BA in Illustration in 2001. Her first book Five Little Fiends won the Bronze Smarties Prize and the UKRA (United Kingdom Reading Award) award. It has been an international success, translated into 8 different languages. 

Since then she has written and illustrated six more books. Clementine and Mungo, Princess For A Day, and The Girl with the Bird's Nest Hair, for Bloomsbury; Mrs Muffly's Monster, A Monster Day at Work, and Batty (due to be published February 2011) with Frances Lincoln. She has been published in America, China, France, Germany, Holland, Japan, Korea, and Mexico.

Sarah also attends many Festivals, Workshops, and Schools to carry out events and readings. Recently she has attended Bath, Cheltenham, Edinburgh and the Hay Festivals. 


When Sarah is not writing and illustrating she teaches on the Foundation Course and the Illustration BA Course part-time at Kingston and Middlesex University, and has just completed an MA at Brighton University in Sequential Design and Illustration.
